Breast Cancer Story
To inform all.

NACHA Oct 4th cutting "Breast Cancer Awareness"

Your participation and donations will have a 100% return on fighting Breast Cancer and you will be able to see immediate results for your efforts.

This year Breast Cancer is hitting the Arizona cutting clubs family very closely.  Cheri Raftery has just recently been diagnosed with breast cancer.  This disease touches us all personally sooner or later.  We all have mothers, sisters, grandmothers, wives, daughters, daughter-in laws, mother-in laws, aunts, girl friends and just plain ol' good friends.  After all at least half of this worlds population are women.

Scott Raftery has been training horses in Arizona for thirty years or so.  He has been involved with the AZCHA as president from 1998-2001.  Cattle locater for more years than we can keep track of.  Scott is also involved with SACHA as president 2006 - 2008.  Cheri was the AZ High School Cutting Horse coordinator from 1999 - 2004.  Cheri also rode her little mare 'Little Checotah' to the $3000 Novice/Non-pro Western Res. in 2007.  Their daughter Heather won the Western National Senior Youth in 2005.  Heather was also awarded the Todd Drummond Award in 2005.  In 2006 Scott rode 'Lil Commando', Heathers horse to win the Western National $3000 Novice Reserve Championship.  Heather plans on putting her life on hold and helping Mom and Dad this year, what a daughter.  You see Cheri is Scott's right hand man or WOMAN, as it happens to be.  The Raftery's have given much to the world of cutting.  Horses are their life and their love and they are very giving people.

Just consider how many times Scott has set in your corner to help you pick cow's and hold herd or turn back, now is the time to set in Scott's corner and show him just how much you appreciate what he's done for you.  Please be generous with your donation.  It means a lot to the Raftery family.  They have insurance but they have a large deductible that will have to be meet two times in four months before insurance kicks in.  Cancer treatments are a very expensive endeavor.

NACHA will be having an un-judged cutting work at the end of the Oct 4th show at a fee of $40.00 per participant. NACHA will also have a donation box available for those that are unable to participate or make a trip to the bank. (Just remember time is a factor, and every donation matters.) All proceeds will go directly to a fund being set up for Cheri Raftery. All donations and money raised at this event will go directly to the Cheri C. Raftery Medical Fund account set up at the Bank of America. If you wish to make donations, please make checks payable to 'Cheri C. Raftery Medical Fund', that can be deposited at any Bank of America or send, along with well wishes to:
